Those who have been involved in their high school band are invited to join the nearly 400 students who are currently involved in the UNC Bands. These students enjoy involvement in a campus organization that provides immediate identity and purpose. The UNC Bands encourage and promote academic excellence with rehearsal and performance schedules that are compatible with the student's academic requirements. Music majors and students pursuing degrees in other fields are able to participate without compromising their academic pursuits.

Most prospective students are concerned about the academic pressures and time commitments involved with performing in one of our ensembles. However, students who participate in our groups discover a creative outlet that enables them to more easily adjust to college life. Members of the UNC Bands enjoy a friendly atmosphere which enables them to grow in their appreciation, understanding, performance and enjoyment of music while spending time with newly-found friends.

New member registration appointments for students interested in the Athletic Bands are scheduled on the second day of all CTOPs sessions during the summer and do not interfere with other CTOPs activities.

I am sure you will enjoy the beauty of our campus, the challenge of a fine academic institution, and the opportunity to become involved in campus life at a great university.
